Hi. I just received my copy of Animator Pro 1.3. When I try to run ANI.EXE or ANIPLAY.EXE, the files start to load, then the computer hangs. Any idea what's going on? System: 386/25DX, 16MB RAM, DOS 6 with Dblspace. Thanks, Mark

What happens if you boot up without an AUTOEXEC.BAT or CONFIG.SYS? (temporarily rename them)

Well, I didn't try and if I did…I couldn't get at anything since I loaded the program on a doublespace drive! Can't access it without the driver loaded! Mark

Double space is not a good idea for AAPRO. It uses a Virtual Memory Manager which writes temporary files to the Hard disk. These files really should be placed on an uncompressed drive. Also, with DOS 6.. are you using EMM386 and/or MEMAKER? -Brian

Well, I have two harddrives and I put AAPRO on drive D which is compressed, but AAPRO seems to want to put it's temp files on drive C, which is not compressed. I'm using EMM386 and that turned out to be the problem. I was using the NoEMS switch, and apparently AAPRO either doesn't want EMM386 running at all, or if it is running, AAPRO wants some Expanded memory allocated. I gave up using MemMaker, since it always came up with less free memory than I could do setting everything manually. Thanks for the reply, Mark
