>> Why not just upgrade to version 2? Greg: How would I go about upgrading to version 2 or 3 and around what would that cost? By the way, When I found my origal 3D Studio disks they were flooded with water from the hurricane but I kept them anyway. You can almost read the labels. Thanks

All you need to do is to send us your original #1 disk (assuming it's readable enough after the flooding!) and we can handle the upgrade for you. The cost of the upgrade from Release 2 to Release 3 is $497, I haven't seen any prices from Release 1, though. Anyone from Autodesk know the pricing of the upgrade from R1 to R3??? Greg Pyros

Greg, The upgrade from EITHER release 1 or release 2 is $497 list. Release 1 folks will also receive the protection block when upgrading, absolutely FREE! <g> Kevin Krell – Computer Support Associates

What is the protection block?

Rachid, 3D Studio release 2 & 3 have a hardware protection lock (or 'key', or 'dongle' or whatever you want to call it) that must be attached to a parallel port on the system running the 3D Studio interface. Kevin Krell – Computer Support Associates
