Love to make it but flight and hotel and entrance fee bring it over 2 k USD
and the school only pays instate conferences since the recession last year
Good Luck- Hope it sells out. When will you have one on the east coast. All
big adesk events this year seem to be far west coast only, Thats
unfortunate since 50% of the usa lives in the eat coast time zome.

Pat, Autodesk University will be in Atlanta, GA next year. I can't recall
the exact dates, but it will be during the week of the 31st of October. The
reason this event has always been on the west coast is that's where the
developers are. It sure is nice to be able to talk directly with the core
programmers each year. I certainly hope they will be shipped to Atlanta
next year (hint, hint Autodesk).
I started CSERVE about a month ago so I don't know all the locals yet. Pat,
I sure need your input on the needs of the K-12 AutoCAD instructors.
With the E/T SIG, we are trying to have as broad a coverage as possible.
Please send me your ideas and wish list items.

Thanks for the invite to input. I have a list of questions that were
compiled from the k-14 instructor development classes that I ran this
summer. Will post here for you.
We would like to see others liven up the discussions here.

Do you know how deadly it is to get a week off while you are teaching?
This AutoDesk university in October is just plain nuts….

Reality, WOW what a concept. Scheduling AU must be a real problem for
Autodesk. Autodesk EXPO A/E/C Systems, and CAD Camp during the summer are
two major events in a short period of time. I will make sure John Forbes
and NAAUG are aware of this problem.
I know for certain that next years AU is even more screwed up. During the
semester and also during Halloween. Some of us (maybe not me) have a life
other than Autodesk, but Halloween is a biggie for me and my family.
By the way ONE wish list item has been granted. AU 1994 will be in
Atlanta. The two dates were August and October. You don't want to be in
HOTlanta in August! Having AU in the East was one of the major items for
the past NAAUG conferences.
Maybe I just took it for granted that I'll be taking a week and a half off
during the semester. Good point!

Including a weekend in the middle of the schedule could be a big help if AU
must be in Oct.
What about the entrance to the exhibits only area, What is the cost? I
second your Idea about listing good teaching methods and clssroom tricks
and tips. PAT
Pat, Good suggestion (to have AU cover a weekend) since almost everyone
needs to stay over a saturday anyway.
As for entrance fee to the exhibits at AU, I'm not sure. Can someone else
help me out here? If not I'll find out.

There is a $100 discount available to the first 200 educators/students who
register (first come, first-served).
Anyone may get into the exhibits only for no charge, if you register for a
"Show Pass" in advance. When completing your registration form, check the
third box listed above the name/address section of the form: "I can't
attend the conference, but would like to see the exhibition. Please
register me for exhibits only FREE." or call 415-380-0424 or FAX
415-380-8229 or pay $20 at the door for a Show Pass.
Show Passes will not provide admission to the technical classes. You must
register as a conference attendee to go to the classes.
