#IBM 3270 emulation?
5 messages in this thread
I'm wondering if there are any terminal emulation programs out there for the
Amiga (either PD, shareware or commercialware) that will emulate an IBM 3270
terminal.
Thanks,
Angeli
I've never seen one.

I've seen one, but it's old, and wasn't the best. It's called Ami3270. I don't
have a copy handy at the moment, but could probably find it somewhere on the
Internet. It's freeware and unsupported.

Are you attempting to connect via SNA or just a dialup connection? For a
dialup connection, VLT is quite good. it works with most of the dialup
IBM boxes that I have seen. If you are looking for a COAX type
connection, I heard of a company one time that did that but was never able
to locate them.
Angelique,
I doubt many people out here thet even know what a 3270 device is (I
know there are a few). I've been using mi-Amiga to talk to my IBM (or
Amdahl or whatever) mainframes at work for several years but, alas, I've
always had protocol converters at work that converted asynch/ascii/9.6bps
to sldc/ebcdic/3270/9.6. It works very well with most Amiga communications
programs IF you have the protocol converter at the other end.
