Clark: You should contact MVP about upgrading to YFT 2.2. I haven't had a single problem with it. Unfortunately, it still doesn't support GEDCOM, but this is coming. The display still has a WB 1.3 look to it, but it's worked without a hitch all the way up through WB 3.0. It prints quite well on the NEC 3550 daisywheel I've got (which I like because it takes that WIDE printer paper) using an Alphacom Aplahpro 101 driver. Stay cool B-) -Larry

Larry, I'm still not convenced. The lack of ability to exchange files with anyone (unless they are running YFT) is just too debilitating. There are much better programs for doing genealogies. At least two of them do have GEDCOM support and one of them evens attempts to convert YFT to its own format for you (although I had limited success getting YFT to read its own format consistantly, so I don't really fault the program for failing at this task). I don't know if they have cleaned up the printing in YFT 2.2 but YFT 2 doesn't do the job at all. Having to set the printer macro and set PREFS to get a truncated listing where the fields are not even aligned (take the date message for birth and death for example) is just too much of a headache. Nope, I'd look for something else. But all these things are pretty much subjective anyway. Cool in the desserts of Southern California Clark -|- Williams –O-o-O– Via George
