Using V3.0, I experienced a problem in the Keyframer when rendering an animation. The scene begins with a close up of the computer monitor mesh included on the CD-ROM (media meshes), with my own gif bitmap as the screen material. The camera pulls away, to reaveal a corner workstation with furniture (also from the CD ROM), in about 65 frames. From frame 20 to 30 or so, the monitor completly disapeers, then only a few faces show in folowing frames, then the entire montor reapears and acts properly fro the reaminder of the animation. I have tried using "Force 2 sided" without a change. Next question: I use a TARGA 64 card with an Animax board, and I am having problems with single frame VTR control, as the readme says. I do not know, however, what software will work with this combination. Thanks for your time. Rich Schwartz

Rich, This sounds like a depth clipping problem. I'm just a novice at this but this may give a place to look before you get the real answer from Gary. If my memory serves me correctly you will need to adjust the 'Z-Clip-Near' value to a number below 1.0 Hope this helps. Bob

Hmmmm, I had a couple of problems with that mesh myself a while back, Rich, but I don't remember exactly what it was now (Brain cell deterioration?<g>). However, I *do* remember pretty much re-doing the mesh (I also added a very life-like screen/bevel mesh) that worked fine in an animation I did. If you can't straighten out the problem any other way, let me know and if you'd like, I'll Email you the mesh. -Alan Iglesias

Both Robert's suggestion (about the z-clip values) and Alan's suggestion (about the possibility of bad data in that file) are good ones. – G
