Help! I've just installed Toaster 3.0 software in my Amiga 2000 – GVP
040 with 12 meg ram and DKB megachip. When I try to start the
Toaster, I get an error message that says Toaster unable to genlock.
I have the 2.05 workbench, and a Syquest 44 meg. Also my Toaster
board is a 2.0. What is going on? This happens with no input on #1,
or when I have my camera feeding a signal to #1 input. Am I totally
screwed? Good thing I backed up my 2.0 software. Any suggestions
would be really, really, really appreciated.
It's just possible that you have been trying to load the T4000
software instead of the 3.0 software. That error is EXACTLY the one
you get when the T4000 software attempts to load on a 2000 platform.
Check your disks, then call Newtek.
The other alternative might be;
An early version of 2.0 workbench (might need updated roms)

I was unaware of the different versions, T4000 and 3.0. We have two
machines here, one with a new T4000 board, and one with a 2.0 So,
naturally we tried loading the T4000 software on both. Thanks for
the info. I guess we need to buy the 3.0 software if we want to keep
the old Toaster card up to date. Oh, well….. -Rich

Did you ever get your 2.0 system to work with the new toaster
software? I am having exactly the same problem you described. I
bought the "Double-Up" package and I tried installing the T4000
software on my A3000T with a 2.0 Toaster card. Is the fix to just
reinstall with the 3.0 software (not the T4000 software?). Or add a
new 4000 toaster card to my A3000?
