#center axis?
12 messages in this thread
Hi, sometimes I would like the axis of an object to be exactly centered in the
object. How can I do this? -David
Turn on Coordinates and find the length, width and Depth of the object.
Halve each of these sizes and then use the Transforms editor to POSITION
the AXIS only to that position. Hope this is coherent for you.
Oh, I have to do it with my head <g> Thanks
-David
Not really, yer Amiga if it has WB 2.xx has a built in Calculator unless
you deleted it to save room on the HD.
You didn't actually keep that calculater did you??? The calculater and
notepad are always the first things I delete on a new machine. ;^)
I haven't deleted anything from WB 2.xx on my HD
but then again I have 3 HD's connected to this machine
No Amiga, sorry, I have a PC without multi tasking under DOS. But I do have a
calculator (you know a real one that you can touch 🙂
Ok I'd suggest going into the Detail editor and loading the object you
wish to center the Axis on. Move it to 0,0,0 Then use the coordinates to
"MEASURE" the X,y,z sizes halve each with yer Calculator and then use the
Transform editor and make CERTAIN you set "Transform Axis" then use
POSITION to get the Axis at the proper X,Y,Z setting to be centered. I
hope this reply is coherent.
Thanks Peter,
I managed to center the axis of an object by calculating the center. I just
thought Imagine has something like 'center axis'. At least my super low cost
animation software has it 🙂

only center screen. No way to Auto Center theAxis that I know of.
Is it one of those gaudy calculators that has adhesive backing to stick to
the keyboard, or a normal one? *8)
Oh, and Amiga users can touch their calculators, too. But everything on
our calculators feels the same. *8>

Hey, sticking a small calculator on the keyboard is a good idea! Why did I
never thought about that…
