Chuck – I missed CAD Camp last year… I've been hearing simultaneous release of DOS and Windows 3.1 and nothing definite about NT. IMHO they'd be making a big mistake if they pushed NT out because there just aren't that many people using it yet. 386s were pretty established by the time AutoCAD 386 came out… Dave

Dave, The words used were "Windows NT, OR the current 32-bit Windows Derivative (be it "Chicago", Windows 4, etc.). I agree with you on the Windows NT numbers and demand, and therefore wouldn't support a "Windows NT Only First". But I do think that AutoCAD R12Win is pushing Win31 furthur than anyone ever imagined it could be pushed due to the 16-bit GDI limitations, and therefor I would be in favor of a DOS/WIN NT release. Chuck – > …and therefor I would be in favor of a DOS/WIN NT release. I could live with that. I also forgot to mention Sun SPARC which has been among the first releases in the past. Dave

Autodesk has publicly stated that the first customer shipments will be DOS, Windows, and NT.
