I'm not sure exactly what you mean by this, Bailey. The VM will output
graphics (any resolution, True Color) but not in real time — you'd have
to have a single frame recorder attached (however, that's all you need —
the VM is the controller as well as the frame buffer). It contains two full
frame buffers, so it can output two frames at a time, and has an auto
setting that will allow you to select the files on a disk very easily, but
once again you'd have to output them two at a time. I've done this
on the 1970 (not a frame accurate recorder) and got results good enough
to convince me to go ahead and buy a single frame recorder.
The VM is a complete Video Editing Suite solution — with the addition of
3DS it becomes a Toaster Killer.

The board retails for 4K — sold by various Multimedia dealers. It
comes with the Editing software and a year's worth of upgrades —
the next release is due out next month. Once again, if you're
not doing video editing there are cheaper solutions, but this
is the ultimate for the video nut.

You are right, we have deal with Fast products and they are very good. The
quality-price ratio in this german products is very good too. In fact, the
Screen Machine was the first of breaking prices down in the video-in-a-window
market about two years ago.

I was confusing the VM with those realtime from HD JPEG-based boards. If you
say it has capabilities similar to the toaster then I now have a good idea what

And just to put the final wrap on this (boy, did THIS topic get extended), the
VM is LIKE the Toaster, except that the core is a visual editing suite
(something
sorely missing from the Toaster). Just for anyone following along who might
be interested, the VM is the total Video Editing solution (the Toaster needs
add ons), assuming you have 3DS (VM does not have a 3d package).
