I am having problems with my GVP A500-HD+ Series II hard drive. The
problem is the thing doesn't work anymore. At first I was getting
read write errors that froze up my system, but that only happened
once in awhile. Then the errors became so frequent I couldn't use the
hard drive at all. I tried reformating the drive but that only
made the problem worse. Now my Amiga will not event recognise the drive as an
AmigaDos drive. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong here.

Start the system and run SHOWCONFIG. See if the controller is being seen by
the system. If it is, then the problem is with either the drive itself or the
power going to the drive. If the controller is NOT there, then it's either the
power to the HD8+ unit or more likely an I/O problem on the A500 itself.
