I am having a problem getting the Smoke Ipas to generate tendrils. I
am animating a Fireball spell and I want to have flames/tendrils
surrounding the fireball like a halo, but I am having no luck getting
that to happend. I have tried using Smoke SXP as a texture map, but
still no smoke tendrils coming off the fireball.

Try using the Plasma IPAS on your fireball. Set the texture of the plasma
tendrils to use a semi-transparent smoke sxp and animate the texture as well as
the tendrils. Should work fine.
