#Write Error on File?!?

I've been running 3D Studio r3 pretty regularly over the past week and tonight
when rendering a flic I got a message "Write Error on File". I went back and
reduced the size of a large object and I got the same message while trying to
save the project. I rebooted without share enabled (I was doing some Visual
Basic work that required it) and went into the Materials Editor to edit a
material. Upon saving the library I got the message again. Norton Disk Doctor
finds no disk problems (I haven't done a surface scan). Any suggestions? This

It sounds like your running out of hard disk space. Depending on the size of
your file, and RAM, your probably creating a swap file that is filling up the
disk. Even with 32MB of RAM, I usually render to JPG's and make sure I have
100MB+ free hard drive space before I hit the render button.

Hi Brent,
"Write error on File" occurs when you're trying to do a save of a file and
you've run out of storage space. When the error occurs, [F10] to the Dos shell
and check your hard drive space. I suspect you might be low in that drive. If
you have multiple partitions, try saving to another drive. If you are low, try
deleting or zipping un-needed files. Remember, since you're in 3DS, if you
decide to delete files, do not delete the temporary files that this session of
3DS has opened now. Search for old or scrap .FLC files as your first target
for deletion.
