I have a few questions concerning video cards and 3DS. First off, my current system has an ATI MACH 32 (BIOS P/N 113-19503-100) with 2MB RAM and highcolor DAC. I'm not sure which Vibrant Driver to use with this card? It was an OEM card for Hyundai 486/33. Sometimes 3DS crashes during renders, leaving a grabbled screen. Also, preview playback does not work. Everything else is fine. I run MEDIT at 640×480 24BIT, Editor and RENDER at 800×600 24bit. Second, a new job will require another machine to make the deadline. I'm going for a PENTIUM 90. Can you recommend a good PCI bus card with 4MB RAM with also has good support for Windows 3.1? I've been quoted on the following: ATI Graphics Pro Ultra w/4MB Number Nine GXE64 w/4MB Diamond Stealth 64 w/4MB I would like to catch-up with the Jones' and go with the new 64bit cards. I need to order it this week, or Monday at the latest. Thanks, David Swoboda

I'm the last person you want to ask about hardware. I'm just a software geek — hardware scares me. There are plenty of hardware experts here on the forum, though. – G

David, I would recommend the GXE64. Not a cheap card, but it cranks. I have a local bus (not PCI) GXE32 with 2 megs of ram, it does 25 mil pixels/sec in windows. _Great_ Windows software. Main thing is to make sure that you get a 64 bit card that uses VRAM rather than DRAM. I'm not familiar with the other cards, though I did have a Stealth. Good card, but the software was not nearly as good as GXE's. What monitor are you using? I have a Viewsonic 17. Hope this helps a little, Mark
