I am a new member to compuserve and am interested in 3D studio but one thing I think it lacks is the ability to map video sequences from the newer emerging fileformats, AVI files in particular. Can anyone tell me if there is there utility that allows a microsoft avi file to be converted to a fli or flc animation file?

"Adobe Premiere", I think "Razor", and "Splice" if you can find it. Jeff

You might also want to go into the Graphics file finder and search use the search words convert and avi, and then look for the file VFD in the list that it comes up with, that program let's you convert uncompressed avi's to fli or flc's and it also will convert between a number of other formats. It's a really cool program! -paolo

I did look at it, and it had some grevious free base mem requirements. I guess if you can get that together, it's cool. It's easier with the tools I have already. I am amazed that there has not been a commercial DOS solution yet. jeff
