#SANYO VTR
7 messages in this thread
I know someone who is contemplating buying the SANYO GVR-S950 (the frame
accurate , $3000 machine). It came out about the time I got my Panasonic 7750
but I was not about to invest in an unproven deck. Dose any one have any
reports, good or about. How has the SANYO been holding up under the riggers of
animation recording?
Scott.
Scott,
I've had the Sanyo for eight months and had no problems. It is a good
deck for the money.

Thanks,
Scott.
Get the GVR-S955. The 950 is out of production and the new 955 fixes several
problems they had for editing work (422 interface).

New model huh? That's good info to know about. Same machine with new ROM code.
Is that what your saying?
Scott.
I have returned my Sanyo GVR-S950 for repair/replacement. I have been
experiencing tape wear, tearing, whatever (thin horizontal noise lines
intermittently spaced). Definitely unacceptable. Another forum member had a
similar experience, but was very pleased with the replacement unit. I'm
waiting to see…

Thanks for your reply.
I'ld be interested to hear how the replacement works for you.
