Yikes… A customer with a 4 mb DXF file asks… "When we render this file 2 times in a row with NO changes… We get minor diferences in the pixels from image 1 to 2…" The dif pixels are off by 1-2 rgb values in about 5% of the total pixels in the image… Not the same amout each render… At a visual level, you can't even see 'em… But when you subtract them from one another… Bang. Funky pixels. I just don't get it. Could it be specific to the model? I doubt it. I'll do some testing myself, but input would be real nice. I would have thought that if the system was 100%, a frame would be 100% re-producable each time you render'd it under a set set of conditions… wow. more to learn every day. Help me. I'm thinking

There are lots and lots of states between on and off (there is the "maybe", the "sort off", the "it's time for a beer", …) P.S. I noticed you found my house this morning! Nice trick with that little Cesna. You missed me though, I spent the night some place else! <g>

Hey… >>>P.S. I noticed you found my house this morning! Nice trick with that little Cesna. You missed me though, I spent the night some place else! <g><<< Well. Are you going to tease about this? Your nights out on the ??? are famous. What is the ???. And what is your best line… " I'm the president now, but '96 looks good for some free time…" PSS. Besides the funny, mean spirited copy that you've submitted for my light hearted review… Any ideas? Compuserve must have no standards…

Are you (or they) rendering using Dithering? Even with rendering still images while using dithering weird stuff happens. If dithering is ON, then turn it off and try again. I don't know the technical intricacy's of dithering, so someone else could give you a more specific explaination as to why this happens. I just know that it is not constant frame to frame.

Steve's correct. If you've got dither-truecolor set ON, the random noise added during dithering from 48 to 24 bbp will alter pixel values.

Ah ha ha… Well, that explains it. Random stuff is cool. So, We'll turn it off and solve one for the griper… ( oops, gipper ) Thanks for the slick input, you guys are large… Naked in clogs, rendering Dr Pixel
