#Future OS
4 messages in this thread
Ok, thanks. It **would** really help me (if no one else) if you could encourage
somebody there to make some kind of statement about future operating system
support for 3DS.
Specifically, please let us know something **BEFORE** we have to make a
decision about what post-DOS OS to move to!!

As Gary and Jack have said MANY times before they can not comment on ANYTHING
about future releases of 3DS.
I think a lot of us would like to know where 3DS is headed but I do
think it is very fair that they can not comment on future releases of
3DS, no matter what.
Hi !
I think it's fair too for customer to ask theses kinds of question.
You know computer change very fast these day and it's normal to
develop a certain level of anxiety about future issues… All this is
fair ! But it would be unfair if Adesk made big change without
further notice. I say to myself that if Adesk keep a leadership in
that business over the years, they have to know how to treat their
clients.

Mark: I don't think that it is either fair or smart to withhold comment on the
one issue that **I** want to hear about – what future operating system(s) is
3DS going to run under?
I know that they don't want to talk about what kind of things are going to be
added to future versions of 3DS, I understand that, and I agree with it.
The problem is that there are clear signs that DOS is not going to be around
forever. There are at least three operating systems (probably more like five)
that are either here now or will be out soon that have some legitimate claim to
replace DOS. Many of us are going to have to make decisions in the next six
months to a year about what OS to migrate to, and I for one don't want to make
that decision in a vacuum as far as 3DS is concerned.
