We are also doing In the City, which is in a hotel in Manchester, and is
the music industry's main show of the year. There we are going for the
Guinness Book of Records. We are going to live record, and live video some
music artists, MPEG encode it, add some graphics, and
produce a CD in the fastest ever time.
The Future Entertainment Show is at the same time as the Motor Show, but
we may try to support it. The World of Amiga Show is at Wembley on the
9th, 10th and 11th December and there will be an User Group area.
In Conclusion
It is most important for people to know that the Amiga is saved.
Twelve weeks ago we had not even mounted a management buy-out and it is an
amazing thing that we have put together. We intend to strengthen our
support for user groups like ICPUG – why re-invent the wheel?

that before we could post this article, John had to not only give his
permission but also that of Mr. Pleasance since the article based upon the
interview was granted with the understanding that it would appear (solely?) in
the ICPUG journal.
I tried to contact John Bickerstaff via Internet to get some permissions
for reprinting the interview with D. Pleasance in several German
magazines, but I have not received any answer from him.
Could you mabye please mail me his fax- or telephone-number?

I think that's a Brit expression used much like we use the term "major" in
college, i.e., an area of emphasis.

In fact, Pleasance has borrowed the american term that you use in college
and extended the meaning to business. It's the type of linguistic
cross-fertilization of which I approve. 🙂

I gathered from the article that he meant they were not able to get the
parts, etc., needed for immediate building of the 1200's, but could get
the parts, etc. to make 4000's – so that is what he will do until he can
work things out to get production going on all versions.
