Dave,
I think there is a problem with low density Mac diskettes. Something
to do with variable numbers of sectors per track over the whole diskette,
which the Amiga cannot cope with unless a Mac diskette drive is connected
to the Amiga. With the High Density diskettes, that problem went away.
I may be wrong, but that is my recollection.

I'll look into the low density issue. But, just for my information, if I
walk into Comp USA and buy a Mac release of Quicken, what disk format is
the distribution copy — low or High? Or maybe both (ala 3 1/2 & 5 1/4 PC
disks)?

Do you know if you can easily connect a Mac drive to an Amiga? Or can this
only be done through one of the emulator boards?

Utilities Unlimited offers a product called AMIA that allows you to
connect a standard Mac 800K drive to your Amiga's external floppy port.
