Dave, You're welcome! As for the amount of cuting needed, as I look at the front of my case, the top of the Syquest drive is level with the top of the df0: floppy slot. The bottom of the drive extends maybe a millimeter lower than the case indentation below the floppy eject button. (Not the indentation that has the floppy access light in it, the lower one.) I haven't checked the prices lately (you know of course the FRIST LAW of computer hardware purchases don't you? Never, never, NEVER look at the price of hardware that you bought a few months ago:-} ) but as I recall, there was about $75 – $100 difference on comperable items. I'm using 2.1 and didn't have to do anything except partition and format using HDTools. Hope this helps, Rob Rob Hays

Thanks, Rob. I'll save the message in case I decide to upgrade to a SyQuest. Right now, I'm putting that and the memory off for a while. I'm itching to install 3.1, (I have 2.04) but I have heard people tell me just now: 1) QuarterBack will crash under 3.1 (I have QuarterBack, but AmiBack is on order) 2) Battmem bit for Sync/Async SCSI transfer should be SYNC (Mine is set to ASYNC) So, I'll be waiting for AmiBack and MagicWB 2.0 to arrive before I do the dirty deed. Actually, I really don't want to give up the black and grey WB title bar! :^) Thanks again! — Dave
