#270 Meg Syquest
5 messages in this thread
I have a friend running the 105 scsi version on his A3000 with no problems… I
think the only thing you have to worry about is if you are using an ide syquest
drive with your Amiga 4000… The IDE model needs to have a specific chip that
is used to make the ide model compatable with the A4000… Amiga dealers should
have the A4000 specific unit otherwise you will have to call syquest and get te
chip… Also if you do this make sure you tell them if your model is the 105 or
270 as the chips are not interchangable… As for the scsi unit, they should
work with just about any Amiga scsi card…
Thanks for the info, Scott.
I'm looking at the SCSI external box so the IDE firmware shouldn't come
into it.
Here's looking at 13.5ms (removable!) access, I hope.
Again, thanks for replying.

Dave,
I also have a Syquest 270 hooked to my 3000. It's faster than my quantum
internal drive and should really move with the warp. I highly recommend
it.

I just bought a 270meg, SCSI, external, Syquest yesterday for my A2000
with a GVP Series II. I'm real happy. I've got backups done and more
hardrive space than I know what to do with! It's great.
