I don't know. I recall reading that I needed WB2.1 to run AMax IV and haad this installed at the time that the dealer (expert services) installed the AMaxIV for me. I had Picasso installed at the same time and it is possible that the 2.1 was required due to that board (have to admit that without Picasso the color for AMaxIV would be fairly slow. The system as I have it, however, works perfectly. I was going to get 3.1 so that I could use AGA (because of the Picasso) on the Amiga side but guess I will not try it. The pictures are really fine enough without it. For me the system works fine. I have a number of CDRom disks that even work well (Mac CDRom, although games do not work). I have a number of educational programs including a neat physics program with graphics, I run compuserve off the Mac, ClarisWorks and lots more and all my printing with Powerprint works just fine (including 24 bit color from the Mac side). I would hate to think that 3.1 voids the Amax. They should have checked this out. Perhaps AMax will get a software upgrade or could tell us why this is. Expert Services in Florence Ky probably would know. They are an excellent Amiga dealer and also the distributor for Picasso, and their system has Amax on it and I think they were running the beta version of 3.1 last time I was there although I am not certain. I would have gone through them to get 3.1 installed and they were to call me when they got it. They have not called, perhaps because of this incompatibility problem.
