PC Video & Graphics
3 messages in this thread
I just recieved my first edition copy of PC Graphics and Video which was
formerly HiColor. If you're not familiar with this magazine its well worth
checking out. I liked their direction in the past and this new issue with its
new direction is even more focused on PC graphics and the applications we use.
Of more noteworthy mention is an excellent article by Tom Bunzel on 3D Studio,
with some really nice rendered examples. Amongst all the hoopla over SGI,
Wavefront, Alias, and Softimage, to see examples of work like this, one has to
wonder what all the fuss is about. <g>
Anyway some more good reading material for those so inclined.

John:
Did you happen to notice that PC Graphics & Video is published in
Eugene, OR by Advanstar Communications, the same people that publish
CADalyst?
Expect to see a lot more articles of interest to 3D Studio users in the
future.
David [CADalyst]
No I hadn't David, I note that the Publisher and Editor are the same,
as are some of the writers. Nice work. I hope that at least a few of
the people involved will check into ASOFT as you do to get a bead on
what's of interest. I look forward to upcoming issues. I would like
to see an integrating systems approach as well as future trends,
complimentary software, framebuffers, desktop video comparisons,
desktop publishing, CD-ROM development, audio mixing, etc. This could
be a real kick in the deriere publication. Not so broad based as many
attempt to be, but >> PC Grahics and Video.<< Its a powerful base
with tremendous potential, and PCVG magazine could really move it
along, IMHO.
