Scott, We're running ATI Mach 64 cards with Dell 90Mhz Pentiums at work, and although the card itself seems fast, the screen readjustment/refresh times when you switch resolutions (from 640×480 in the Materials Editor to 800×600 in the other modules) is incredibly slow — 3 to 5 seconds! It also seems to take a _long_ time to pop from the rendering status box to display the actual rendered image; the program itself also seems to be taking a long time just to load. Anyone out there have some answers on this? — Jon

We just upgraded to a genoa 64 with the S3 chipset and are having the same problem. We're using the drivers that shipped with the card. Performance and compatibilty wise it's a great card and very easy to setup. But when switching modes it takes forever. Steven

The latest drivers on the forum have reduced those times to about a second for me (1280*1024 to 640*480). Still takes a long time to load, but since I rarely leave I can live with that. John Stetzer JWS

Jon, Try the Vibrant 1.0.4 driver update. It will still take a while to load 3ds the first time, but switching modes will be much faster. SSH -Graphic Realities-
