I saw your post, and I thought I'd throw out a bit of philosophy on Animator Studio regarding the age-old "upgrade" mentality. As incredible as Animator Studio is, long time users will note that there are several key features not available in this new product which are in Animator Pro. FWIW, in my opinion, AStudio does not replace ANI, but supplements it. Astudio bring higher bit images to the table, sound synch functions, new file formats, VBasic dev tools… but it does not have the pallete power nor the POCO interface of ANI (for starters). These two tools are a powerhouse used together, but the crossover does not warrant abandonement of ANI. Quite the opposite. Having exploited POCO for a while, ANI has some incredible tools in it found nowhere else. Exploit your current investment too. -dave

Lawrence, I hope you've read the other two threads here. Dave from NAUUG is absolutely right. The two packages complement each other. AAPRO and AAS will be able to work wonders together. (Heard any good animations lately?) Upgrading will be a snap, just go through your dealer. Jeremy

We don't have all the details on AAS, but I will answer what I can. <<AAS is not a superset of AAPRO?>> Not a complete superset. There are some tools which AAPRO has which AAS does not. There are some tools which AAS has which AAPRO does not. The two programs both overlap and compliment each other at the same time. <<How does AAS compare to Director for Windows?>> I am not as familiar with Director. My understanding is that it is a great presentation tool, but has no creating capabilities. Some of the paint and animation creation tools in AAS will have nothing to compare to in DIRECTOR. -Brian
