all, i am looking for an image morphing package for PC. what is the current opinion as to the best package. i would like to be able to morph between two sequences of multiple frames each (i.e. the Exxon tiger deal). thanx Jerry O'Connor Summit Graphics, Inc.

Jerry, Elastic Reality (aroun $300) is known as a "standard" and has just been ported to Windows. I haven't seen this version but the SGI program is quite useful. The Mac version of ER is stripped down and I'm not sure whether the Windows version is as well. I would check it out first. PhotoMorph 2 (about $150) is a remarkably good value for the money and very solid – definitely worth a look. Both do full motion sequences. Cheers, John

I have also used PhotoMorph and have found it surprisingly useful on a couple of projects. I have used it for morphs between two people as well as a ripple distortion effect for a logo treatment. Also, Gryphon has recently announced a new version of their morphing software which might be worth looking into. Good luck. -DD

Photomorph is a remarkable program for the price. But IMHO, Elastic Reality is the best morphing/warping/compositing/DVE generator in the PC market. Both will do morphs between two sequences of multiple frames. I've not timed them, but my impression is that ER has a faster rendering engine. Andrew
