General Appeal For Help, Part2: Prev. left message on this bbs for any info re:
"stuttering" disk-to-tape recording of animations w/ AtVista4m/3ds2.00/BCD5000
-PVW2800 (BetaSP). Got replies, noteably G. Pyros, recmmding updating the
rendering ADI driver to:RDPVISTA.exp. Well,… nooooo relieeeeef! Nice try, no
Havanna. Same artifact. So now I ask G. Yost and friends "Hey, guyz, any notion
as to whuwhud givz?!" Is it a soft prblm? Is the ver. of the ADI driver (from
ADESK-to-dealer-to me) the "one"? Could it somehow relate to using external
procss. w/in the ani? Could it maybe be just video grmlins? Or, a rare strain
fo Saulsalito soft-flu? If the last message was one of honest, optimistic
hopefullness, this one is of ultimate frustration, w/ more than a bit of
desperation. Please advise.
(Could it be sun spots, irradiated gasses from Jupiter…, random hooligans
from Hell?………..A BUGGGGGGG?????……………)

Can't imagine what your problem could be. We have a similar setup, with a
Vista4m/3DS3/Sony Recordable LaserDisc with custom software drivers.
Now that we have ruled out the driver, what else could it be? Are you
initializing the Vista in any way? Don't run anything on it, don't load
anything on it, verify your Autoexec.bat and Config.sys to be sure.
Reboot the machine and load 3DS only, then try a Disk-to-VTR. You are using
field order of 1, correct?

Greg's much more of a video expert than I am, but I can guarantee you that it's
not a 3DS problem, since there are thousands of other folks doing just what
you're doing with no problems.
If I were you, I'd try another VTR controller, like the Diaquest rig, and see
if the problem persists (it probably won't). Other than that, Greg's
suggestions are very good ones.
