#Latest Vibrant Drivers
5 messages in this thread
I have encountered a slight problem with the Sept release of the Vibrant In
Line Drivers for 3DS. Using the ATI Graphics Pro Turbo Mach 64 cards, it causes
3DS to take two to three times longer to start. I have experimented with the
drivers on two machines that use this card. One was using the PCI version w/
2MB of VRAM, the other was an ISA version w/ 4MB of VRAM. One was on a Pentium
90 the other on a 486 66Mhz. The problem ocurred on both.
Please let me know if others have had the problem, and if Vibrant plans to
correct this. In the future, I may not want to use this Video card.
Thanks

Hernando, I have a PCI ATI Pro Turbo and I have the same problem and
it is really annoying. Use the latest Vibrant drivers and also download
ANTIVE.ZIP from the Hardware section of ASOFT. The ANTIVE.ZIP file will unzip
to a program called ANTIVESA and it should be run just before you start 3DS.
This will help the situation but it won't solve all of the slowing problems
with the ATI board. The STB 4MB lightspeed board works much better.

Thanks, for the advice, I will give it a try.
I am upgrading my motherboard to a VESA to see if it helps. I hope it doesnt
conflict with the Targa, modem, sound card, SCSI, CD-ROM. I really got a loaded
up machine. Maybe I will try out a Stealth 64 VLB.
Thanks again.
