#File Conversions
3 messages in this thread
I have a CD ROM with about 200 tif texture maps on it that I got with the
purchase of the "Inside 3D studio" book, however, I am using version 2 of 3D
studio, which can't seem to interpret these tif files. My question is, first,
is there any way I can use these texture maps in version 2, and secondly, if
not then can I convert these tif files to perhaps another graphic file format
and use them. Thirdly, if I can use them in another format which one and where
can I find a converter for tif files
Steve,
Please don't take offense at this but, why are you not considering upgrading to
release 3 or 4? Release 2 was a wonderful upgrade from 1 but 3 was a quantum
leap from 2 and 4 will be that much more exciting.
I don't understand why your trying to go "backwards"???

I don't know for sure if it will work, but you might want to try pulling the
files into any other graphics package that reads tifs (Photoshop,Highjack,
etc.).If they can read the files you should also be able to save them out to
tga and read them into 3DS. Also, it might help to upgrading to R4 if you think
it can fit into your plans. Good luck with the conversions,
