I upgraded my A1000 by purchasing the DKB board Kwikstart II (not 100% sure about the name, around $65). It installs in the CPU socket and has two sockets: one for the 2.x ROM and one for the 1.3 ROM, if you need the latter for e.g. old games. It does require a little soldering, but anyone having tried to solder a couple of times will be able to do it. Be very careful about the legs of the DKB board. They break off easily! The Commodore 2.0 package contains the 2.x ROM and the software These parts you may find at some Amiga dealer or at a mail order company. Regards, Jorgen ….from Roskilde, DENMARK (using LATIN-1)

Derrick, there are – as far as I know – two programms out that allow you to use KICK 2.0 on your A1000. You need at least 1MB of continuous memory to run them. A 1meg expansion in the front of the A1000 (with addmem) doesn't work out. One program is called ZKick. I am not sure if it ever was on a fish disk but you can dl the fish catalog in the amiga tech forum and check there. I have never seen this whole thing working, but I am sure there is software out there. Let me know if you need further help. Frank
