3D BBS
10 messages in this thread
A while back I saw a message from someone who was running a BBS that centered
around 3D graphics. The SysOps reply, to someone else, was that he had quite a
few mesh files for 3DS. I'm know someone who is in need of a football helmet
and/or football. For anyone else who may have one, there will be little or no
fincacial compensation for the mesh because he is a student and this is a
"We'll buy it if we like it" kind of thing.
Thanks
Scott.

It might have been the Rendering Plant BBS (816-525-5614). We're the biggest,
most aggressive 3D Studio oriented BBS that I'm aware of. We convert objects
from all formats and acquire from every possible source to create a massive,
ever-growing filebase. We get textures, fonts, drivers, image utilities, image
and object convertors, IPAS routines, and anything that might be of any use to
the 3D Studio Animator.

Jim,
Just wanted to thank you for your great BBS. I've been able to find several
mesh items I needed in a hurry on your system and it's great to have it working
so well.

Jim-
Loged onto board the other night and OH YEA. Look like you have a great board
there. Didn't find the football helmet I was looking for but you got LOTS of
other stuff that looks great! Browsing long-distance get kind of expensive
though. Is there an ASCII file listing/discribing the files you have for D/L. I
looked for one but no-could-find. If it's there and I just missed it, please,
what's the filename and area it/they can be found in.
BTW, being WILDCAT BBS oriented, I was having touble finding my way around.
I'll learn it eventually. It's just that, live'n here in WILDCAT's home town
(they started, and are still here, in Bakersfield) everyone runs their board.
Scott.
Scott:
Thanks for checking out the BBS.

It's listed on the main menu in the lower left corner, and it's also in the new
users file area and new uploads file area. It's called TRP.zip and right now,
it's around 90K.

Well, I can understand that! Wildcat is a great BBS program. PC Board isn't too
tough to find your way around on though, just read the main menu, and press "H"
after any command and you'll get help.
Also, with regard to long distance costs, check out a program called ROBOCOMM
which automates file transfer, file list uppdating, and mail transfer in an
automated way. It works exclusively with PC Board, which makes setup a snap for
my BBS. It's on the Rendering Plant, but also probably on any local BBS also.

Oh great!. Knew there had to be one. Did I read that right? Your yearly
subcription rate is only $35! I can't make the check out fast enough!
By any chance, can I get to your board though the InterNet?
Scott.
Hey, we're a fairly new BBS, and we support Autodesk products, as well as a
slew of other PC 3D programs.. We could use quality members like yourself!
(BTW: it's WildCat! 4.0.. <g>) Please check it out and help us to continue
growing! 313-453-7639..
Thanks!

Thanks for the invite. I'll have make it a point to "stop by" soon.
Scott.
Great, I'll see you there!
I appreciate any 3D meshes (.3ds or .dxf's) you can provide us to help get
things rolling!
Thanks again!
