Asha, PMFJI, but it was my understanding that CEI disagreed with AT on the original high pricing, and the release, at AT insistance, gave them such bad response that they decided to listen to CEI and reduce it. I believe the current price is still too high to help in breaking into the US/NA market. At present CEI indicates that they have given a proposal to AT outlining a marketing campaign to introduce the Amiga back into the US. It is up in the air as to whether AT will do any marketing based on previous posts here. Seems CEI is really the one trying to make it work. Hank, <At present CEI indicates that they have given a proposal to AT outlining a marketing campaign to introduce the Amiga back into the US. It is up in the air as to whether AT will do any marketing based on previous posts here. Seems CEI is really the one trying to make it work.> You may be right, but I have personal doubts about CEI and their recent actions. The press release (1st one) that said that they'd signed an agreement was not true. I don't know enough about who set what price and who knew what etc. to comment on the price issue. As for marketing, I really don't see the sense in marketing 35,000 machines. When production gets ramped up, sure, but I don't think it's a good idea to create a demand for something in limited production. Maybe Gates can get away with it (waiting for Win95 for 2 years) but I don't think the Amiga can. From what I gather reading Gilles Bourdin (on comp.sys.amiga.misc) the "no marketing" thing is JUST for this first batch. AT DOES intend to market in NA, but not 'til they've got something to market. The above are MY opinions (only) based on what information I've read in various areas. Since I don't have all the facts, it's quite possible that my conclusions are in error. Asha @}–`–,-
