#Decompress AmiTCP
3 messages in this thread
I've donwloaded AmiTCP v4.0 and v3.2b from several web sites: however, I have
yet to decompress any of these archives with success. lha138, lz, and other
versions will not decompress the AmiTCP-4.0.lha, AmiTCP-d.lha, or AmiTCP-b.lha
files correctly. Most of the decompressors say that a CRC errior, or and
incompatible archival method is being used
Lx is the only program that has successfully dearced the entire archive,
however, without recursive de-arching, making it one heck of a mess. Do I need
to register Lzx, as all the files in the archive are 0listed as lh5
compressions, or is there some simple shareware prog that can just de-compress
these files correctly? I would really like to gain web access through my Amiga
3000, and this seems to be my only hinderance.
Hi Dave,
Something is screwy here! LX and LZ will *not* decompress these files
correctly. Make sure you have gotten LHA138.run(self-extracting) from the libs
here.
What DL protocol are you using to DL the files? It sounds like you are getting
errors when DL'ing? If DL'ing from CIS use B+, if from another BBS etc….try
using Z modem!
Hope to see you hit the surf soon!

Hi David: I had same problem. Closed all (except WB) windows and ran "LHA x
amitcp-bin-30b" from CLI after placing amitcp… in dir I wanted and "cd"ing to
that dir.
Good Luck, I been trying several days to get PPP to find and execute its
dialscript. My modem will go TR (terminal ready) but will never dial. After
timeout TR drops and I get PPP failed…………Wes
