I need help…..BAD !
I AM AT THE END OF MY SHORT STRING.
I want to PURCHASE…..YES, I'LL PAY BUCKS…to get the "click on the button"
to run software (Lynx and Mosaic types) which is complete…which won't pop up
a requester asking for some dumb lib item or other "little something" which I
don't know the name of NOR CARE.
All my friends are surfing around the internet viewing WWW pages and here I
am with my little term reading a little word here and there. No pictures. No
graphics. And without the ability to use the arrow keys even!
I run an Amiga 2000 with 5 meg memory and 100+ hard drive.
Am I out of luck? Just I just give up and buy a IBM PC?
Does a click to run disk(s) exist? Nothing missing. No complicated
instruction sheets for installation. No gather this, paste this, adapt that
….
Help me, please world.
Kenneth,
No one has made an 'Internet in a Box' for the Amiga – at least, not yet, or
not to my knowledge.
The closest we have is Chris's script file that installs things for you. To
find that, look in Library 4 for IINST151.LHA. The instruction file included
in the archive will tell you exactly which files to download from CIS, and the
script will install them all for you. Most of our people have been getting
online quickly when they use this script. But I haven't tried it myself, and I
cannot tell you whether they are seeing the graphics, or just text. I became
disenchanted with the Internet several years ago, and just haven't wanted to
get involved in it again.
I'm sure that others will hop in here and tell you more about these programs.
I'm moving this request to Message Section #4, Networking, though. That's
where people look for Internet messages.
