#Amiga Web Browser

Hello Sysops! I would like to know what I have to go through to access WWW
through CIS with my 2000HD? I am using Autopilot.

Rusty,

Rush out and get Dale Larson's book, "Connecting Your Amiga." It holds all the
answers you seek.
Good luck,

Hi Rusty,
PMFJI, but if you have OS2.04 or greater then get the following files from the
AmigaUser libraries:
IINST.LHA – Lib 5 or ICIS.LHA – Lib 5 ; install script
PPP130.LHA – Lib 5 ; ppp 1.30
TCP30B2.LHA – Lib 4 ; AmiTCP/IP
MOSTCP.LHA – Lib 4 ; WWW browser (Amiga port of Mosaic)
The IINST.LHA or ICIS.LHA files will perform all the required tasks to install
PPP and AmiTCP, which are needed for AMosaic. You can of course install these
yourself but its frustrating and time consuming so I wouldn't recommend it.
The script should make everything very easy!

Terry,
I followed your advice. Everything went smoothly.
However, after rebooting, the CLI command "internet" produces the error message
"serial port in use" although nothing is using this port.
Any advice?
Thanks

Hi Benny, I'm the author is the installer.
The pop-up window saying "serial port in use" means that the connect script
has detected another program currently using the serial port. Perhaps a fax
program or something is sitting in the background?
Also, it's possible this error could occur if you mis-typed the serial driver
name or number during the install. You can reboot, then re-run the installer
to install over the current setup.

Hi Benny,
As Christopher says, something else must be using the port. If you could post
the exact wording of the error it might help us identify the problem. Also,
what other programs you start on booting.

Rusty,
There has been a tremendously long discussion of this in Section 4 – Networking
– over the past few weeks. I would suggest that you look in Library 4 for the
file IINST151.LHA. This is a script that will install all the files for you –
and will tell you exactly which files you need to download before it can do the
installation.
