#internet access

anyone,
I am trying to browse the internet thru compuserve. I keep getting funny
characters coming thru. Is it possible to browse the internet thru compuserve
on an Amiga, and can you do it with Autopilot? Or do you have to get on hands
on? Any help appreciated!!! Dee
Hi Dee,
If you have OS2.04 or greater then get the following files from the AmigaUser
libraries to browse the Internet:
IINST.LHA – Lib 5 or ICIS.LHA – Lib 5 ; install script
PPP130.LHA – Lib 5 ; ppp 1.30
TCP30B2.LHA – Lib 4 ; AmiTCP/IP
MOSTCP.LHA – Lib 4 ; Internet browser (Amiga port of Mosaic)
The IINST.LHA or ICIS.LHA files will perform all the required tasks to install
PPP and AmiTCP, which are needed for AMosaic. You can of course install these
yourself but its frustrating and time consuming so I wouldn't recommend it.
The script should make everything very easy!
Ciao,
Terry Cooper,
Sailing the fjords on Autopilot.
Small correction:
PPP130.LHA – Lib 4 ; ppp 130
(it's not in lib 5)…

Hi Jim,
Yep, you got me there. Can't even read me own handwriting!

Hi Dee,
Please see message #210158…this covers all the software you need and includes
Chris Laprise's internet install script. I would substitute
TCP4.lha(AmiTCP4-demo) because the latest version of AMosaic(the Amiga Web
Browser) needs AmiTCP4 or higher. TCP4.lha is in the libs here. This should get
you started. Myself and others will be happy to help.
>I keep getting funny characters coming thru< What are you doing when you get
these characters??? AutoPilot is not meant for Internet browsing, it is for
INet mail exchange, CIS email, and forum messaging and file transfer.
