I have the commercial release of Disksalve, and it absolutly crashes this 3000T of mine BIG TIME! I believe I can scan floppys, but not the Hard Drive. This problem goes away with the accelerator removed. That is the only real problem I have that points at the accelerator. -Peter Motorollin' with G-Force 68040 on AutoPilot

Peter, frequently, when my accelerator crashes, it is due to loose chips, so try reseating the chips, firmly. Do make sure you ground yourself by touching a metallic case before touching the chips. The next thing that gets me here, since I've had mine for a while, is dirty contacts. If you take a pencil eraser, that hasn't been used before (!), and run it over the edge connectors that connect it to the machine, you may clean off any oxides that have built up. Be sure to clean them off afterwards with some alcohol, and to let the alcohol dry before you power up, unless you like alcohol fires. Lastly, it ain't always the hardware. Sometimes some recent software you have added to your startup-sequence, user-startup, or WBStartup drawer, has screwed things up. Usually by interacting with another program. So look for those as well. DiskSalve is one of the most reliable programs I've ever seen. However, it can be, ummm…, "annoyed" by certain other utilities running at the same time, such as diskcache and other utility programs. Brian Been there…. Done that…. Better.

I have disksalve and it crashes my 030 2000 and my stock 1200. I can scan and repair the drives just can't exit out without a very hard crash. Mayby it's 3.0 related.

re: Disksalve >>Maybe it's 3.0 related. I don't believe so. I have DiskSalv2 running on a A1230/50/50/8 w/VMM. It's the shareware v2, so if you have an older version you might want to check this. – Phillip, on AutoPilot 1.80 _____T_____ Going Amiga 'till the Sun goes Nova! * * O * * B5>ST.all
