#Kerosene '040s / '060s ?

I'm back again with an extension on the '060 for the A1200 topic. I read a
review in a Brit mag that the Cyberstorm '060 suffers from a lack of RAM
caching and needs a patch program to redirect certain math functions to the
software without flushing the chip's buffer. In other words, the '060 is not
optimized yet in these things. In Video Toaster User, a review on Amiga
accelerators says that even the touted Sonnet '040 doubler does not optimizea a
big enough cache for the '040. What gives, will we, who are a long ways off
from RISC, have to run a sports car on kerosine? LS
well most accelerators don't have the options for onboard cache<l2 or syncburst

That's a dang shame! One of the accelerator articles mentioned that the cache
on the Pentiums are what give them the speed edge. LS

well with l2 cache these cpus would run as fast as a comparable intel type…
an amiga 4000/040 might run equal to a 486dx2 66
if it had static ram cache
My p90 has no static ram cache and it does things slower than it should
especially in os2
