#PhotoShopAppleEmulation
5 messages in this thread
I would like to use the apple version of Photo Shop on my amiga 3000 or 4000
with a program like Shape Shifter. Has any one had any luck with this program
and Shape Shifter? I wanted to check with others before getting too involved in
another fruitless effort. Photo Shop is very memory intensive and may be too
powerful for a program like Shape Shifter. Any opinions or advice would be
helpful.

Paul,
I don't know what the needs of PhotoShop are, memorywise, but Adobe Illustrator
runs fine here. This needs 8 meg for the Mac on a 12 meg A4000/40.

PhotoShop and OS 7.5 eat up 16megs on a normal PowerMac so you would need even
more on an Amiga emulating a MAC.

I can run Photoshop on my A3000/Emplant with 12MB for the Mac side. System
7.5.1 + a billion extensions uses about 4 MB leaving about 8 for Photoshop.
It complains on startup, but does work O.K., run a lean system and leave out a
few plug-ins and there should be no problem.

Are you using PhotoShop 3.0 or 2.1 grrrrr 2.51? I attempted to use a
PowerMac8100 with 16 megs of ram (someone else's computer so I don't know what
all plug-ins it had) and it couldn't even load all of PHotoShop. When PS
finished loading About this MAC said 0 ram free. When I tried to acquire the
twain module for the scanner I wanted to test on the MAC it refused with a
message "not enough memory to load acquire mudule". I run PhotoShop 2.51. on
my A3000/25 Emplant with only 8.9megs of ram for the mac but I have to run
really be careful what I have it set to load (pluging etc.)
