I'm waiting for my P90 and have run out of time. I'm trying to install my PAR in my 486 and am having problems. I have the case open and the Micropolis HD is sitting outside. It seems the PAR is not recognized. The error is. Warning — Invalid Base Address in PAR.INI File Runnung Auto-Detection … DPS PAR Board Nor Found ! MASTER_MAXDRIVE_LBA not found in PAR.INI I tried changing the dip switch to 228 and adding it to my Autoexec.Bat but the problem still exists. Also the HD gets VERY, VERY hot – is this normal? Thanks for any suggestions, Mark

Mark…. My install a year ago gave me similar fits. My PAR is external hanging on a Prolinea 486/50. I got your errors. You have got to make absolute sure that all of your device addresses are correct, and not overwritting each other. If you have a Targa board, make sure the PAR and Targa are not overlapped. I also had a few problems getting the PAR drive to format and fired up. I just had to keep fiddling with it and stay calm. Geez….I don't know about the hot drive. Sounds a bit wierd. It should not be getting that hot. Of course up here in the Big Sky country nothing is hot right now (-5). S White

Hello, Thanks for replying. I just got my P90 today. I'm going to put the PAR in tonight. Maybe I won't have any problems(g). Thanks again, Mark
