Shai Two things to look for: 1) Make sure Loft-banking is off in 3DS.SET 2) Use Deform/Twist to rotate the triangle so it stays flat -Ted Boardman

Check out my Bolt.Zip in the libs to give you some ideas. The whole bolt is a made from a single loft. Maybe it will give you some ideas. — James — Choreo Motion —

I am only a 3D artist as a hobbie, so I am not sure my opinion counts here (And my English is terrible… I am not from USA) but I would do a helix, then put a cylinder in it. Using the right size and shape, its supposed to work. Do you need a close up of the screw? (How about tabering a helix? w or w/o a cylinder?) Be sure you use the right meterials. Or, if you got WWW acces, try to Lycos search "Avalon". Maybe you will find it at that FREE 3DS's site. (Go there, alll of you. Yes now. No I am not kidding…). Hope this help. (As the top boleand a cylinder or something like that, thats fairly easy). Yaniv, Israel.

I'm also a beginner in 3ds. (A French guy living in San FRancisco). What you suggested is not stupid, I did the exact same thing and it works great. I'm not sure for a really close up but it's a good idea. Stephan

Common question. You were right in your first approach, but there's a 3DS.SET file parameter you need to set. Edit your 3DS.SET file so that "LOFTBANKING" is off. Now your triangle will loft correctly. Put a simple cylinder in its midst (with the same segments as the helix had stepsfor a circle) and you're all set. – Phil
