#VBPLAY Licensing

I have tried unsuccessfully for the last two weeks to contact Max Hoffman at
Autodesk to discover what the licensing fee and terms are for the VBPLAY.VBX
control.
I am currently in the final stages of preparing a multimedia product for
release in mid-January. Can you give me any information about fees and/or
terms? It is critical that I find out immediately, or our company is going to
have to convert all of our FLC files to AVI files, and use the MS Video for
Windows routines rather than the Autodesk control.

I just found out that Max is no longer handling the Animation Support
Libraries. That may be why it has been difficult to get a response. The new
person handling these issues is Mark Gerhard. He can also be contacted at
415-332-2344. I am not sure about his emial, but I think it is
markg@autodesk.com.
I am sorry it is difficult to get a response on this issue. This difficulty is
the topic of a meeting I am attending next week. With Mark now at the helm of
this product, I anticipate that future dealings of this nature will not be a
problem.

I too am using the VBPLAY VBX for a system which might eventually be sold to
other companies. Is there a royalty or fee associated?? If there is I too
will have to do the old FLC to AVI conversion.
The sooner you can let us know the better. Thanks a bunch for your help.

When the splash screen does not display, royalty fees are determined on a case
by case basis. In MOST cases, all you need is a licence agreement. The person
to talk to is Mark Gerhard. 415-332 2344 or markg@autodesk.com. He is now in
charge of licencing for this product.
