Ok, I just got WindowsNT up and running. But it will not recognize my Summasketch III tablet. I looked for NT drivers for Summagraphics products and could not find any on Compuserve or on Summa's BBS. So, two questions: 1) Are there NT drivers or something else that will allow NT to see the tablet? 2) If not, what are people using for pointing devices when using 3DS? Thanks, wayne

>>NT drivers for Summa tablets Join the club. There are a slew of irrate Summa owners over in the ACAD forum (most with offices-full of Summas). They've had a beta NT driver up on their BBS since March (with broken-promises of a full version being issued constantly) — but they crippled the beta by making it "expire" on April 1. So, to use it, you have to set your computer's date back! I read in ACAD the other day that they apparently "suspended" work on NT to get a Win95 driver out (it was just released, I think). So MAYBE, we'll see them getting back to work on the NT driver — but there are a LOT of steamed users out there who are all vowing not to buy any more Summa products. (A number of other tablet mfg's HAVE released NT drivers.) Dave

David, >> there are a LOT of steamed users out there who are all vowing not to buy any more Summa products. You can add me to that list! This tablet has been a pain in my $%^&!!! At SigGraph I checked out the new Wacom tablets. They are very nice, small and the pen has a much better fell without any batteries to replace. Anybody want a SummaSketch FX?? <g> Andrew

>> still waiting for a pressure sensitive driver Well, I have more faith in a driver for Wacom to surface than one for the Summagraphics. Andrew

Tim Wacom 2.20 will apparently support NT will support newer tablets. If you have the older SD510 series tablet the drivers won't work, yet. There are some threads in the Wacom forum if you haven't been over there. -Ted Boardman
