There are newer NT drivers on DPS's ftp site now: PANTi146.EXE (as opposed to
the 136 drivers that were there the other week). This set includes a small
text file of revision info.

I personally didn't see much difference — but then I wasn't brave enough to
try doing any file manipulation yet!<g>

Yeah, I haven't been bold enough to try doing file manipulation on the PAR from
NT. I guess I do have everything on DAT though…. Maybe, I'll give it a go. I
haven't actually gotten the 1.4 ones yet – maybe later. Right now, I'm trying
to find the Beta NT Monterey drivers. I thought I'd found them but no such
luck. Their BBS is hard to get on right now… I think I've found a suitable
solution to my problems. At least for a while. I'm gonna give NT a smaller
partition – like 400Mb instead of 650 that way I can have regular windows,
Razor, etc. on another 450Mb FAT partition. At least everything will work then
and I can still learn NT. It sure is fast – my computer seems much more
responsive. It's an amazing OS really. I got the new shell for it and it's got
some little bugs in it, but it's nice.

I just love dragging windows around in NT — it's so beautiful, compared to the
clunky Windows 3.1x method.

I think Dave was the one that started the question. Those drivers you guys are
looking for are on the Multiven Forum in the Turtle Beach section. I think they
just went up yesterday the file is called MSNDNTEV.ZIP. These cover the
Multisound series of cards (e.g. Monterey, Tahiti, Multisound classic).

With the audio working it has given me the ability to have the NT up and going
all the time with the exception of 3DS4. I set up NTServer on a 486 w/16megs,
hooked up 4 DOS machines running Lantastic and a NTWorkstation and all is going
real well. This NT stuff is getting real fun. Glad to be of some help! 🙂

Great to hear! I ended up putting Samba on both of our Sun SparcStations,
thanks to Gus and John Foust, so I can log into them whether I boot up into DOS
for 3DS or NT for just about everything else, including OzWIN which I am using
right now!

Compared to what?<g> For what I'm using it for right now, the performance is
great. There are three things it's used for, to learn about NTServer, to access
my files between DOS and NT applications and a printer server for others in the
office. Under these circumstances the server is working great. If I was
rendering from all 5 stations and others accessing the NTServer all in the same
period, I think I would be in trouble, I'm taking it one step at a time.

Have you gotten the preview window to work for you? All I get when I try to
use the preview is black, besides that my PAR works fine in NT with the
software from the DPS site. However, there was no help file or an install.
Any helpful hints would be nice…<g>

I didn't really expect the preview to work on my PAR as I lack the decimator
chip (which I figured was required). I've been meaning to get around to
ordering one, and just have to remember to get it done. If your board has the
chip, I'd bet they just don't have that bit implemented yet…. Apparently,
this is a beta driver — you ought to check out the site fairly often — I
found an updated (1.46) of the driver there about a week after having dl'ed the
1.35 version.

I have an older PAR and I'm positive I don't have a decimator chip on it.
