#Memory Managers

Just curious,
What experience do we have out there with memory managers? I'm looking at
QEMM, Netroom, and Max 386.
Anybody got any testimonials or horror stories?

The vast majority of users here seem to agree on QEMM, as the memory manager of
choice. It's what I've used since it can out, and as long as one avoids the
"stealth" modes (unless you feel like playing Indiana Jones and having a few
harrowing adventures), it's quite stable. I will admit that I have always been
intrigued by the idea of Netroom's "cloaked" (protected-mode) BIOSing, but I've
never used it. I _do_, on the other hand, use Netroom's seperate multimedia
pack, _with_ QEMM, to load special "cloaked" versions of MSCDEX, mouse-driver
and a disk cache. (I just use the MSCDEX and mouse driver.)

I got the most conventional memory by far out of Netroom. One day the bios
cloaking wouldnt work but re doing customiz solved it.

We've tried using QEMM, but it seems to give us problems. The problem comes
from my CalComp Drawing Board III's drivers. I need the digitizer for AutoCad,
but for some weird and unexplained reason it crashes windows when I use QEMM
and the driver. After spending several hours talking to QEMM and CalComp, we
were still unable to solve my problem. QEMM had to go…
I still like QEMM, and would recommend it. The tech support was very good and
patient. If you don't need the digitizer I would get it.
