>> this tool in a single frame, but neither this Guide nor the Animator Studio documentation explain how the gradient designer effects can be animated between frames. Can you tell me how this is done, or put me in touch with someone who can tell me?<< wasn't sure if you ever got a response on this, Neil. can you explain what you're trying to do? i understand how a Gradient Ink would be applied using a tool over time… but what do you envision the gradient designer doing over time? we may be able to get some folks from programming and HSC in on this if i can describe explicitly what you envision happening. -dave

Thanks Dave. In fact I got answers from both HSC and Autodesk, by phone, to say that it can only be done manually. The idea is that I would change some of the parameters in Gradient Designer over a sequence of frames (e.g. use a circular gradient pattern to resemble a glow, and move the position of the glow, or rotate a linear pattern, or alter a blur setting …). It's not an original idea – it's already incorporated into the KPT version for 3D Studio. I just thought it would be nice to be able to do it with the 2D allpication also. I didn't get the impression that anyone was going to stay back late to include it in the next release! Neil
