Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me I would like to make my own IPAS programs, and I wondered if anyone had any recommendations as to which compilers, software developments kits etc I would need to get started. I've read about Watcom C and Phar Lap; is Phar Lap a C compiler? How similar are these to the Turbo C++ conventions and interface? Just out of interest, many of my TC programs need more memory to run – will the above compilers help me out here?

I'm sure someone who knows what they are talking about will give better details, but… PharLap is the DOS extender that allows programs to run in 32 bit space. It is sort of an operating system that runs on top of dos. Users don't normally see it because it is built into the 3ds executable. I would not expect you would be able to code an IPAS in Turbo C++. The interfaces and support library routines just wouldn't mesh. Have you looked at any of the files in the library about programming IPAS routines? LAM

Thanks for your help Larry, however I think I may have worded my question wrongly, I guess I'm more interested in the difference between Turbo C++ and the Watcom version and its advantages over TC++. Thanks again. – Brian (For Hamid)
