#3d max biped
9 messages in this thread
i attended siggraph 95 and sat through autodesk's three presentations of 3d
studio max twice. it was quite impressive.
during each presentation of biped, it was stated that biped was included with
max. i have read that it will be sold separately ?
could you clarify ?
thx's

Frank,
Go with the written info. Biped (with Skinemation) will be a separate
product sold by Autodesk. Inverse Kinematics, with object & position pinning,
however, WILL be a part of 3DS MAX, integrated in a seamless manner, unlike 3DS
R4. Perhaps therein lies the confusion.

Kevin:
the problem is that autodesk stated that biped and skinemation was part of 3d
studio max. they went out of their way to say so during their presentation.
also, everyone i talked with (at siggraph 95) regarding these functions were
assuring me that is was also part of 3d studio max.
maybe we could get someone from autodesk to clarify what was obvious at the
time.

Frank,
Sorry, it IS clear to me. Biped w/Skinemation is a separate product
(although to be sold by Autodesk). This is info the dealers have, and is
consistent with the press releases. They do indeed operate seamlessly WITHIN
3DS MAX, and can be used with other 3DS MAX core components. Again, I feel you
must have misunderstood someone's comment regarding the product.

Frank,
I posted a message earlier. I did all of the Biped demos at SIGGRAPH and never
once said that Biped would ship with 3D Studio MAX. I did, however, say that
Biped was the first fully-integrated plug-in for 3D Studio MAX.
As Kevin pointed out, Autodesk has been clear on this issue through dealer
mailings and press releases. Sorry for the confusion.

I watched all the biped and max demos at SIGGRAPH and talked to Jonas and
Jeremy about both Max and biped. I never got this impression.

Dan,
I didn't get that from anyone I heard or talked to at Siggraph.
