>> I wonder if there is any other modeler in existance that even *approaches* this sort of flexibility? Haven't played with Prisms, huh? <g> SESI's Prisms and, I hear, Wavefront have some similar "crazy" procedural/mathimatical abilities like we're seeing show up in MAX. (I love it!) – But Prisms isn't layed out quite as well for learning curve, ease of use, IK! – And Real 3D comes to mind because they have a heirarchy of _everything_ (they're stack), but again, not my idea of an ideal interface. And, I can almost afford MAX! <g> I've been sending Yost Group my [humble] impressions of the procedural concept for quite a while. (Not that they weren't probably, most/all of the way there on their own, having some one from Wavefront on hand. But I fell in love with procedural techniques when I started using Prisms, and I thought a different (users) take on the concept might help it evolve a little quicker.) People will be blown away by the power of this kind of system as they start figuring out the theory of it. I know I was, and continue to be. ______ I loved the line in Gary's prelim. feature list. . . "Dozens of other neat time-based features that we don't want to give away to our competition right now." <g> We're not done yet! – Ron

Nope, never "played" with Prisms, Ron (expensive "toy"<g>). I've always been a fairly "workstation-challenged" sort of guy…<g>. But it sure sounds like the concept of procedural modeling is really the way to go here. Your comment regarding folks' initial impressions of the power of procedural modeling is a wonderful prediction, and just the way I thought when I realized exactly what the YG was actually up to these past three years. We'll probably never actually get "done", but gettin' there is sure gonna be fun! -Alan
